Q. Where do your articles and videos come from?
A. Some of our articles and videos are created by us at PracticalPlating.com but the majority are submitted by regular visitors to our website and Forum.
Q. Why submit articles and videos to your site? What’s the point?
A. Backlinks! We can (subject to your requirements/instructions) insert Backlinks pointing to specific locations within your site for the search engines to pick up.
Q. What is a backlink?
A. A backlink is a link on someone else’s site that leads to your site. It’s important to build a large number of backlinks because of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Your websites ranking partly depends on the number and quality of backlinks to your site. Backlinks are also how you get known on the Internet. As more sites provide a link to yours, more natural traffic to your web pages occurs.
Q. Are there any costs to use your site and forum?
A. No. Access to our site and its content (including videos) is free.
Q. Can I advertise my business on PracticalPlating.com?

Q. What if I do not have an ad to place on your site?
A. We can work with you to provide a graphic ad to promote your site. A small charge would apply for the use of our graphic designer.
Q. How do I submit an article?
A. Simply head over to our Submit page and enter your name and email address (both required) and website address (optional). If you are submitting an article enter the details as required in the ‘Article Submission’ section. If you are submitting a video enter the details as required in the ‘Video submission’ section (further down the page).
Q. Must I be the original author of the article I submit?
A. No. However, the article must be original and not copied from anywhere else on the internet.
Q. If I am not the author how can I submit an original article I have not written?
A. You can use the services of a content writer. A content writer will write an article for you and to your exact requirements. You will then own full rights to the article.
Q. The internet is huge! How will you know if an article is original or not?
A. Every article submitted is screened by www.Copyscape.com to ensure 100% originality.
Q. What if I submit my article to your site and someone copies it for their website?
A. We appreciate all the hard work that goes into producing an article which is why we use ‘Copyscape Sentry’ which informs us by email when our content is plagiarized and published by someone else on the internet. We then take action for removal from the offending site.
Q. How do I submit a video?
A. Simply head over to our Submit page and enter your name and email address (both required) and website address (optional). If you are submitting an article enter the details as required in the ‘Article Submission’ section. If you are submitting a video enter the details as required in the ‘Video Submission’ section (further down the page).
Q. Must I be the original creator of the video I submit?
A. No. You can submit a video to appear on PracticalPlating.com from YouTube providing the owner allows his video to be used this way.
Q. How do I know if the owner of the video will allow it?
A. Their ‘sharing Options’ will be set to ‘Yes, external sites may embed and play this video.’ which will allow you to access the embed code.
Q. You mention training videos but I cannot find them?
A. They can be accessed once you are a Forum member.
Q. Why must I register with your forum to watch the training videos?
A. Everyone hates having to register for things on the Internet; we do too! In order to fully utilize the abilities of this forum which includes:
- Gaining full access to the training and how-to video section.
- Post new threads.
- Upload pictures.
- Reply to other peoples’ threads.
- Edit your posts.
- Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify.
- Send private messages to other members.
- Enter events in the forum calendar.
- Set up a ‘buddy-list’ to quickly see which of your friends are currently online.
You must be registered. This promotes interaction between yourself and other registered users which in-turn enables everyone to maximize their learning experience.
